A DOUBLE celebration to mark the approach of Christmas is on the way in Hartlepool.
Festive organisers have lined up the Christmas is Coming event for this Saturday and Sunday.
Saturday’s fun is a three-hour event in Ward Jackson Park where people can cover a wishing tree with festive decorations between noon and 3pm.
Hartlepool Borough Council’s countryside team will host the drop-in session to celebrate Tree Dressing Day.
Visitors can create decorations from natural and recycled materials, with some to take home and some to decorate the wishing tree.
Those interested in taking part should meet at The Place in the Park cafe. For more information, contact (01429) 523421.
The second day’s activities will be held on Sunday at Seaton Park in Seaton Carew.
From 10am to 1.30pm, the Friends of Seaton Park will host “a day of festive fun in the Park to kick off the Christmas season,” say the organisers.
Activities include the planting of a hedgerow, a chance to make your own Christmas tree decorations from natural and recycled materials, and an invitation to dress Seaton Park’s wishing tree.
Those wanting to take part should meet at the bowls pavilion.
