THERE was lots going on at a church’s annual summer fair that raised hundreds of pounds.

Seaton Carew Methodist Church set out their stall in the church hall for the annual event.

Organisers were a little disappointed the turnout was not higher.

But the day raised £390 for the upkeep and work of the church in Station Lane.

Volunteers manned a host of stalls inside the church hall and were stacked with tasty home-made treats and all sorts of bargains.

Cliff Stubbs did well with his chutney and card stall, while volunteers Jack and Andrew sold anything and everything on their bric-a-brac table.

Church steward Pat Minto and friend Mary ran the nearly new stall.

Pat said: “The turnout for the day was quite poor but we still made £390 towards the work of the church which we are pleased about.”

If you did not make it to the summer fair you can still get involved with Seaton Carew Methodist Church.

Members and non-members are invited to drop in every week for a cup of tea or coffee.

It is an opportunity for visitors to make new friends and have a good chat.

The drop in takes place every Tuesday morning from 10am till 11.30am.

Pat added: “All welcome for a chat and a coffee or tea.”

Visitors are simply asked to make a small donation of whatever they can afford.

All proceeds will go towards raising much-needed funds for the church.

Keep an eye out in the Mail for details of future church events.
