A SELECTION of ciders are on offer for punters
as an award-winning pub holds its first cider festival.

The Fishermans Arms, in Southgate, on the Headland, is packed to the rafters when it holds its hugely popular beer festivals.

Landlord Steve Bell, 51, has now delighted cider-lovers with his latest event, which started on Monday of this week and lasts until this Saturday, June 15.

Westons, Broad Oak, Mr Whiteheads and Hecks are just some of the ciders on offer for customers.

People can also be entertained singers Mimi O’Malley and Glenn McDougall tonight and the weekly open-mic night will be taking place tomorrow night.

Steve, who runs the pub with his partner, Mandy Jackson, 49, a mum of Emily Whitehead, 14, said: “Our beer festivals have been extremely popular so we thought we would try something different this week and people asked us about a cider festival. Hopefully it will prove just as popular.”
