HUNDREDS of classic cars and vintage vehicles will roll into town this weekend for a nostalgic motor show.
The show will take place in the car park of Hartlepool’s Maritime Experience on Sunday and will feature all kinds of vehicles from around the region including cars, motorcycles, buses, vans, wagons and tractors.
The event is organised by the Northern Bygones Society.
It was set up last year and is open to anyone with an interest in vintage or classic vehicles.
Paul Jackson, Northern Bygones Society founder, said: “We’re delighted to be coming back to Hartlepool following the marvellous response to our two shows in the town last year.
“This is a great opportunity for older people to take a trip down memory lane and for younger ones it’s a wonderful chance to see some pieces of living history.”
It is not too late to enter your prized vehicle in the show as entries are welcome from club members and non-members.
“Just turn up on the day by 10am.”
Steve Smith is one of those who will be at the show with his 1953 Triumph Renown.
Prizes will be presented at 3pm with awards for the best car, best bike and best commercial vehicle in show.
Claire Munroe, of Hartlepool Borough Council’s cultural services section, said: “It’s great to welcome the Northern Bygones Society back to Hartlepool for what will be the first of two shows this year.
“It’s a great event for all the family – why not make a day of it and visit Hartlepool’s Maritime Experience as well?”
