A WHOLE new world of learning opportunities will be made available at an educational and enlightening open evening tomorrow.
Hartlepool College of Further Education is hosting the event as part of Adult Learners’ Week which runs until Friday.
The college’s higher education curriculum covers areas such as engineering, construction, education, management, accounting, IT, early years, working with young people, sport and public services.
New for September 2011 are courses in aerospace engineering, counselling, outdoor education and design.
All of the college’s courses are designed with and approved by employers.
Students on fabrication and welding programmes use state-of-the art technology and the college has a jet and helicopter to help the aerospace students develop key essential skills.
Classroom-based lessons will be housed in the new Higher Education Centre which will have access to its own Learning Resources Centre.
Everyone is welcome to attend the open evening which will be held between 4pm and 8pm at the town centre college where prospective students will be able to have a chat about what is on offer.
The open evening has been timed to allow everyone to attend outside of working hours with adult learners a priority during such an important week which is being celebrated around the world.
Adult Learners’ Week is now in its 20th year of promoting the benefits of all kinds of learning whether it be for fun or to gain qualifications.
Staff will be on hand to explain everything about the options available whether it’s studying full time to gain a university place, on a part-time basis to fit around existing commitments or whether to re-skill for work.
The new £53m college will be opening over the summer and will be fully operational for the new September intake.
