Community news in brief

STARGAZERS will gather for their June meeting at a planetarium.

The monthly meeting of the Cleveland and Darlington Astronomical Society (CaDAS) will be held on Friday, June 10, and the guest speaker will be Professor Christine Done, from Durham University, who will talk about the dark side of the universe.

The meeting will be held at the Planetarium in Wynyard Woodland Park near Hartlepool, off the A177 Durham Road.

People are urged to arrive by 7.15 pm for a 7.30 pm start.

CaDAS was formed in January 1990, following the merger of two neighbouring societies. It currently has about 40 members.

Admission to its meetings costs £1.50 for adults and £1 for children.
