A NEW play park is set to be unveiled on one of Hartlepool’s largest housing estates.
The Middle Warren Play Area and Neighbourhood Park features a wide variety of equipment including a 130ft zip wire and multi-use games area.
It is being paid for by Middle Warren developers Leebell as one of the conditions to allow them to build the houses.
The park, which also includes an attractive bandstand, is almost finished and is due to be officially opened on Saturday, May 10.
Hart ward councillors Paul Beck and Jean Robinson are using some of their ward budget allocation to help pay for a fun day on the day of the unveiling.
Coun Beck said: “It is going to be a fantastic recreational facility, particularly for children and families living in the Middle Warren and Bishop Cuthbert areas.”
The impressive community facility incorporates play equipment for children of all ages including an enclosed multi-games area, swings, climbing frames and a 130ft zip-wire ride.
As well as the bandstand it also features various walkways, landscaping, disabled access and car parking.
Coun Robinson said: “This is a significant play park which I am sure will be well used by the local community in years to come.”
It comes after pupils from Throston Primary School were asked for their views.
