MEMORIES of days in the classroom will be relived when a school reunion is held next month.
Jane Hammond, whose maiden name was Dixon, is organising a get-together for English Martyrs’ School’s class of 1985.
It will be held at The Woodcutter pub, in Waverley Terrace, Hartlepool, from 7.30pm on Friday, March 1.
Jane, 43, who lives in the High Tunstall area of town, said: “I wanted to organise a reunion for years, I just never got round to it.
“Last year one of the lads in our year died in a car crash and a few of us went to the funeral.
“A few of us got together and said we will do something in his memory.”
Mum-of-two Jane, who is an administrator, said she had already put the feelers out for numbers of people interested via a Facebook page and so far around 50 people said they would attend.
But she hopes the Mail can help spread the word to non-Facebook users.
Jane added that among those who said they would go along to the event were Claire Pollard, Mel Thackeray, Joanne Lindsay, Claire Twist, Martin Harvey and Sean Collins.
Jayne Weatherill, Donna Smith, Angie Smith, Janet Chappell, Lesley Adams, Kevin Ayre and Antony Weldon have also said they will be there on the night.
The reunion is also open to the year group’s teachers and Jane remembers teachers including Mr Lee, Mr Linden and Mrs Harrison, who she believes all still teach at the school, which is based in Catcote Road, Hartlepool.
Jane is going to organise 80s music for the night and there will be a £5 charge on the door, with proceeds going to Hartlepool & District Hospice, in Wells Avenue.
