A VENUE has been confirmed for a school reunion that is taking place next month.
Michael Gant has appeared in the Mail in recent months trying to gauge support for a get-together for Henry Smith School’s Class of 1978.
In June Michael told Together Again that a date of 7pm on Saturday, September 20, had been set for the gathering.
Now he says the venue for the reunion will be the United Services Club, in Miers Avenue, in the West View area of Hartlepool.
And he added that not only is he organsing the event – he is also providing the entertainment.
Michael, 52, who runs Rainbow Photography, based on Hartlepool’s Headland, where he lives with wife Brenda, explained: “The room is booked at the Services and we are expecting at least 70 people, maybe 100.
“My band Presence will be playing a mixture of classic rock and 70s music and we have booked Kenny Day’s disco for 70s music.
“It’ll be fab providing the entertainment and also catching up with old friends – at least people will know which one is me.”
Michael, who is dad to Joshua and Jennifer, said he has received lots of interest about the reunion since setting up a Facebook page called Henry Smith’s 1978 School Reunion, where people can find out more about the event.
Admission to the reunion will be £5 and tickets can be obtained from Michael on Facebook or by calling (01429) 292711.
