Police have released this picture of a man they are trying to trace after an empty packet of painkillers was found in a Hartlepool supermarket’s toilets.

Cleveland Police say they are concerned for the man’s welfare and are appealing for him to seek medical attention and for anyone who recognises him to contact them.

The photo was taken from CCTV at Asda in Hartlepool at around 6.30pm on Saturday.

Staff found an empty packet of painkillers in the store toilets and raised the alarm.

Family members, friends or anyone who knows who he is, are urged to contact police on the non-emergency number 101.
