A CARE home was awash with red, white and blue as residents celebrated two special occasions.
As well as marking the Royal Wedding, the Four Winds care home, in Elwick Road, Hartlepool, celebrated resident Connie Metcalfe’s birthday.
Connie was 90 on Thursday so yesterday’s fun – which included hat-decorating, residents wearing red, white and blue, party food and wine to toast the happy couple – was a joint celebration.
The home’s activities co-ordinator, Alison Thornhill, said: “The residents thought the wedding was lovely.
“Connie turned 90 on Thursday so it was nice to have a joint celebration for her. She had a lovely time.”
Alison added: “All the residents dressed in red, white and blue, we made Royal Wedding hats and decorated them and had a glass of wine to toast Prince William and Kate. The room was all decorated with bunting and flags.”
Around 20 residents took part in the double celebrations.
