CONGRATULATIONS to artistic Connor Griffin who is the winner of the Mail’s Draw Your Mum competition.
Caring Connor, aged six, came up with this great picture of his mam Emma Griffin.
We received scores of entries as youngsters went to work with their pens and crayons to produce heartwarming pictures of their mums.
It was an incredibly difficult job, but our judges decided little Connor’s should claim the top prize.
Emma, a 26-year-old care assistant, said: “I’m really proud of him. He’s a good boy.”
News of the win came as a complete surprise to Emma, who did not know Connor had entered our competition.
He secretly drew the picture with help from Emma’s mum, Margaret McClusky.
Emma, of West View, said: “The first I knew about it was when my mam got a phone call to say she had won.
“Connor doesn’t do a great deal of drawing and painting at home.
“But he is really into his computer games like Super Mario.
“He just did it for me for Mother’s Day.”
Connor is a pupil at West View Primary School.
Emma, who works at Admiral Court Care Home in Cleveland Road, Hartlepool, added: “He is a hard worker at school.
“I went to parents evening was two weeks ago and he was top in everything.”
Emma, also mum to eight-month-old Evie, spent an enjoyable Mother’s Day with her family at Hartlepool Golf Club.
The family then rounded of the day by celebrating Emma’s dad Stephen’s birthday at their house.
Emma is engaged and plans to tie the knot with partner Paul Wilkinson, 43.
For his efforts Connor has won his family a giant chocolate Easter egg.
“I’m sure he will love that,” added Emma.
Thanks to everyone who took part in the Draw Your Mum competition.
