RESIDENTS are invited to the launch of an important new blueprint for making sure that children, young people, families and those with additional needs have a voice in key decision-making in the town.
Called the Hartlepool Participation Strategy, it will run from 2012 to 2015.
Its vision is that a wide range of people from within the community will be able to have a say on matters that affect their lives.
The strategy will “build upon current good practice in the town” to set out a framework for children, young people and families to have the opportunity to take part in decision-making – “both on an individual or group level and also in the wider democratic process”.
More than 50 organisations have already signed up to the strategy including the borough council, Cleveland Police, the health services and the Vela Group.
Now others are encouraged to do the same.
The strategy will be launched at a fun day on Tuesday, April 9, at Rossmere Youth Club in Rossmere Way between noon and 4pm and everyone is welcome to go along.
For more information about the strategy or the event, people are urged to contact Helen White, participation manager in the integrated youth support service, on (01429) 284044.
