SCORES of people enjoyed fun in the countryside when a festival returned for an eighth successive year.

The Hartlepool Countryside Festival, at Summerhill, gave people a chance to enjoy traditional crafts such as wood turning and stick dressing.

There were lots of competitions and children had a chance to have their faces painted.

Other attractions included a range of displays about the local countryside and environment. Cleveland Fire Brigade also attended.
