Appeal after dog walker punched in face

A DOG walker was punched in the face as he walked through a housing estate in the early hours of the morning.

The 52-year-old man was strolling along Marlowe Road when he was attacked at the junction with Sinclair Road, in the Rift House area of Hartlepool.

He was punched by one man as a gang of his friends watched on. They are all thought to be aged between 18-20 years old.

The suspect and the group all ran away after the incident at 2.30am on Saturday, August 27.

The victim, who was a local man, suffered a small cut and swelling near one of his eyes and grazed his elbows.

Police are appealing for help to catch his attacker.
