Appeal over garden thefts

POLICE are urging anyone who may have been offered some stolen garden ornaments to get in touch.

Detectives in Peterlee are appealing for information after a number of items were stolen from a garden in Eden Vale Estate, Horden.

A 68-year-old man reported having a grey stone Buddha ornament, a fox terrier dog ornament with a built-in solar lamp, a water font featuring a stone robin and a black fish-shaped black metal solar light stolen.

Detective Sergeant Cliff Down, of Peterlee CID, said: “Whoever has been in there has helped themselves and it also looks like they have dropped one or two other ornaments from someone else’s garden.

“We would appeal for anybody who may have been offered the property to contact us.”
