AN ARGUMENT in a street during the early hours led to two arrests.

Police were called to Carlton Street, Hartlepool, after residents were disturbed by two men arguing.

Officers arrested one of the men on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly. A woman was then arrested on suspicion of obstructing a PC.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “Two males were having an argument in the street. One of the males was arrested and that caused a female to become involved and she was also arrested.”

The 20-year-old man was later released and given a fixed penalty notice for being drunk and disorderly during the incident at 4.30am on Sunday.

The 18-year-old woman has been charged with obstructing a police officer.
