A WOMAN is due to appear in court today charged with the attempted murder of a man at a house in Hartlepool.
The 32-year-old woman was arrested by police after a man was stabbed inside a property in the town’s Oxford Road on Tuesday afternoon.
A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said the woman was due to appear in custody before Hartlepool Magistrates’ Court this morning.
She said: “A woman has been charged with the attempted murder of a man following an incident in Oxford Road, Hartlepool, on Tuesday.
“She was remanded in custody and is due in court this morning.”
Emergency services were called to the address in Oxford Road, near to Rossall Street.
The man, aged 38, was taken to The James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, by ambulance with stab wounds.
A police officer stood guard outside the house for several hours after the incident while detectives carried out enquiries.
