Police are appealing for witnesses after a car was torched in East Durham street.

A car parked outside a house in Trimdon Station was deliberately set on fire at 2am today.

The silver-coloured Vauxhall Corsa was parked outside the property in Wood View.

It is believed an accelerant was used to start the blaze which damaged the vehicle’s engine.
