Cat torn apart by dogs as their owner ‘stood by and watched’

POLICE are appealing for information after a cat was killed in an attack by three dogs.

Sedgefield Neighbourhood Police are investigating the incident, which took place on a field behind Harwood Court in Trimdon Grange.

A police spokesman said: “The incident relates to a cat being killed by three dogs while the owner of the dogs stood by and watched.”

The dogs’ owner is described as a white male, about 5ft 10in tall, of medium build, in his late teens or early 20s and with short dark hair.

Police say the dogs were a small terrier type wearing a reda and black handkerchief, a small dark lurcher-type dog and a large dark lurcher-type dog.

Anyone with information about the incident, which happened around 12.30pm on May 18, is urged to call police on 101.
