POLICE have urged anyone who fears they may have been a victim of sexual abuse of any nature to contact them.
Detective Superintendent Rob Donaghy, of Cleveland Police, spoke out after seeing pervert John Jukes caged for four and a half years at Teesside Crown Court.
Sick Jukes, 49, set up cameras in a bathroom and living room to film young girls in intimate situations, including using the toilet.
He was one of a dozen people arrested on Teesside after a national agency monitoring perverts accessing vile images contacted Cleveland Police, who raided the property, in Hartlepool, on April 12.
Det Supt Donaghy said: “I am pleased with the sentence passed and hope it acts as a deterrent to anyone considering carrying out similar acts.
“We take any report about the sexual abuse of children extremely seriously, and any act of online offending or distribution of images will be dealt with robustly.
“I would encourage anyone who is a victim or believes that offences are being committed to contact us.
“Cleveland Police are continuing to pro-actively investigate those responsible for carrying out these crimes to keep children and those vulnerable in our society safe.”
