TWO drug dealers have been ordered to just £1 between them following a proceeds of crime hearing before a judge.
They are among 12 dealers subject to a hearing at Teesside Crown Court aimed at clawing back proceeds from the network based at Hartlepool Marina and a house in Elwick.
The court heard trusted gopher Anthony Smith, 35, previously of Meadowgate Drive, Hartlepool handled drugs worth £350,000.
But he was found to have no available assets and was ordered to pay a nominal £1.
He is serving nine years jail after he admitted conspiracy to supply Class A drugs last year.
The court also heard Leslie Graham, 48, formerly of Greenacres Farm, Haswell, stood to gain by £37,505, but also had no money and paid just £1.
He is currently serving seven and a half years after being found guilty of conspiracy to supply cocaine after a trial.
Mark Gelson, 34, who fronted retail side of the operation at Hartlepool Marina will have to pay back £40,365 to the authorities after criminal property worth £460,151 passed through his hands.
Gelson, formerly of Marlowe Road, Hartlepool, is serving a jail term of six years and four months.
The hearing continues.
