FIRE crews tackled rubbish fires at two derelict buildings which have become a regular target for arsonists.
A crew from Stranton Fire Station was sent to the historic Tunstall Court, in the West Park area, around 7pm on Friday evening and spent 15 minutes at the scene.
Then at 8.45pm on Saturday, their counterparts at Peterlee Fire Station were called to a small fire at the former East Durham College site, on the corner of Burnhope Way, in Peterlee.
Crews from both stations are regularly called to the sites to deal with deliberate fires, and have issued warnings to arsonists that their actions waste valuable resources should an emergency call be received from elsewhere.
Anyone with any information about deliberate fires in Hartlepool or East Durham can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
