A MAN has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the death of Hartlepool man Mark Dixon.
Cleveland Police officers have charged a 28-year-old man with the killing following an incident in the town’s Victoria Road during which 32-year-old Mark suffered serious head injuries.
Around a week later, the much-loved dad-of-one lost his fight for life at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.
A police investigation has been ongoing since Mark was injured at around 4am on Sunday, October 5.
Detectives leading the inquiry charged the man with manslaughter on Wednesday.
He has been released on bail and will appear at Hartlepool Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, December 31.
A police spokeswoman said: “A 28-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter following an alleged incident in which 32-year-old Mark Dixon suffered serious head injuries. Sadly, Mark later died in hospital.
“The alleged incident took place at around 4am on Sunday, October 5, on Victoria Road, in Hartlepool.
“The man will appear at Hartlepool Magistrates Court on Wednesday, December 31.”
