Detectives probing £16k theft of two Rolex watches in Hartlepool make arrest

A MAN has been arrested in connection with a £16,000 theft of two Rolex watches in Hartlepool last week.

The two expensive watches were snatched from Market Cross Jewellers, in Middleton Grange Shopping Centre, last Tuesday, October 29.

Police launched a search for the suspects and studied the store’s CCTV footage.

And officers have now arrested a 31-year-old local man on suspicion of theft. The man has since been released on police bail.

Detectives are continuing their enquiries into the theft and are still urging any witnesses to come forward.

Both of the stolen watches are 18 carat yellow gold on 18 carat gold bracelets. One costs £8,450 while the other is priced at £7,495.

One of the watches has a unique serial number of S658233 while the other’s serial number is X982098.
