TWO women were arrested and a row of shops was cordoned off after a man was rushed to hospital with injuries.
Police were called to Wynyard Road, in the Owton Manor area of Hartlepool, after paramedics alerted them to the man’s injuries.
He was rushed for treatment for what police are describing as not life-threatening injuries to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough.
The incident happened around 7pm on Sunday and the area was quickly sealed off.
Inquiries are ongoing and police have not yet released details of the circumstances of how the man sustained his injuries.
A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “Just after 7pm, police were notified by ambulance service colleagues of a man who had received what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
“Officers attended the Wynyard Road area of Hartlepool and the man was taken by ambulance to James Cook University Hospital.
“Inquiries into the circumstances around and nature of this incident are continuing and two women have been arrested in connection with it.
“They will be questioned by detectives in due course.”
