POLICE are appealing for witnesses who may have seen a vehicle prior to a fatal smash.
Cyclist Robert Graham Devlin, known as Graham, was killed when he was involved in a collision in Haverton Hill Road, Billingham, on Sunday, November 17.
As officers continue their investigations into the fatal smash, they now want to speak to anyone who may have seen a white Mitsubishi L200 pick-up style van, similar to the one pictured, on the day of the crash in Billingham or Hartlepool.
The vehicle has aluminium ladders on the back and is believed to have driven along Tees Road and then Haverton Hill Road before being involved in the collision which sadly killed 55-year-old Graham, who was a volunteer for the brigade through the Cleveland Fire Support Network and had recently served as an auxiliary firefighter.
Following the tragic smash, Cleveland Fire Brigade paid tribute to Graham, a married dad-of-one from Middlesbrough, saying: “Graham was a volunteer with the Cleveland Fire Support Network for several months and quickly became part of the family. He showed an enthusiasm for life and was always ready with a sarcastic comment or quip.”
Any witnesses who may have seen the vehicle on the day of the incident are asked to contact PC Alison Fawcett on 101, quoting incident number 203736.
