CCTV: Police want to speak to this man

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a theft at a railway station.

A 21-year-old man locked his black Apollo bike in the cycle rack at Hartlepool Train Station, off Church Street, in Hartlepool, and left it to go about his business.

At around 5.15pm, a man riding on a red bike with a white plastic bag over the seat, rode up to the cycle racks, removed the wheel and pedalled away.

Officers from the British Transport Police (BTP) have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the theft, which took place on Saturday, 11 January.

Anyone with information is asked to contact BTP on (0800) 405040 or text 61016 quoting reference NEA/B6 of5/2/2014.
