A pet dog has helped to protect its owner from unwanted attention from a stranger.
The 22-year-old was walking the dog along Clarence Road in Hartlepool on Sunday at about 6pm when a man asked her to go with him.
He asked her again behind Hartlepool United football ground but left when her dog growled at him.
The man is described as white, around 6ft and wearing a black hat, grey hooded tracksuit top and bottoms with black trainers.
