NEIGHBOURHOOD police carried out a drugs raid after receiving information about alleged cocaine use in the town.
Officers swooped on an end-terrace house in Harwich Grove, Hartlepool, after suspecting Class A drugs were in the property.
A police van and two marked cars stopped in the street with around 10 officers taking part in the afternoon operation.
Cleveland Police’s district support unit and the dogs unit were both drafted in to search for any illegal substances in the home, which is just down the road from Jutland Road police station. A quantity of drug paraphernalia and a large amount of cash was recovered at the address.
A woman in her 50s and a man in his 30s were arrested and were being quizzed by officers yesterday afternoon on suspicion of being concerned with the supply of Class A drugs and money laundering.
PC Philip Guard, who works in the Rossmere area of town, said: “We are keen to take intelligence from the community and this was a good example of us working on advice given to us by the public.
“We are determined to improve the quality of life for residents across the Rossmere area by tackling problems of this nature.”
