FIVE people who were arrested after the body of a man was discovered in a house have been bailed by police.
An investigation was launched on Sunday morning after a man was found dead at a house in Gritten Square, in Hartlepool’s Central Estate, shortly after 9am.
The death was described by police as “unexplained”, and the man’s name has still not been officially released though it is understood he was in his mid-20s.
A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “Five people who were arrested after reports of a man’s body being found have been bailed pending further inquiries.
“Inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the man’s death.
“It is currently being treated as unexplained.”
Police sealed off the house where the body was found, and officers stood guard at the front door while forensic examinations were carried out inside the property.
