A CELEBRITY has taken to social-media network Twitter to support an East Durham man’s anti-gun campaign.
Former Liberty X singer Michelle Heaton has retweeted a link to Bobby Turnbull’s campaign for tighter laws on firearms legislation.
Hartlepool Golf Club worker Bobby, 24, of Blackhall, launched a petition calling for a series of changes to gun laws after his mum Alison, 44, sister Tanya, 24, and aunt Susan McGoldrick, 47, were shot dead by Michael Atherton, 42, in on New Year’s Day 2012.
The petition needs 100,000 signatures to force a debate in Parliament on the issue and so far more than 20,000 people have added their signature. It can be found at http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/41060
