A GYMNASTICS club has been left with a “big problem” after thieves swiped a computer containing contact details of people on their waiting list.
Hartlepool Gynmastics Club members assumed its manager, Shelley Taylor, had taken the lifeline lap top away on holiday when it was nowhere to be seen.
But when Shelley returned and it was revealed that she had not taken it with her, the club realised it had been stolen.
Now the group has no way of contacting parents of children who were on the 60-strong waiting list and excited to be signed up.
So they would like to appeal through the Mail for anyone who had their names down to get back in touch if they still wish to eventually get a place.
Club member Andrea Lamb said the machine, which was second-hand and not worth a lot of money, also contained information about forthcoming events and members details.
She said: “We couldn’t believe it when we realised it had gone. Somebody has obviously wandered in and just picked it up. I wouldn’t care but it’s not even worth a lot of money. Whoever’s stolen it won’t get a lot for it.”
She added: “I’d just like to ask anyone who had their name down with us to get in touch and give us your details again.”
Anyone who would like to re-add their name to the waiting list should contact the club on 07584255523 or on (01429) 863669.
