A WOMAN was left shocked and shaken after her handbag was snatched in a daylight robbery.
The 54–year–old woman was walking though Stranton Grange Cemetery, in Hartlepool, when she was approached from behind by a man on a bike.
Police say the man used force to grab the bag before making off through the cemetery towards Brierton Lane.
The robber is described he suspect is described as being white, aged between 25 and 30–years–old, tall, of heavy build, with dark brown, short hair.
He was wearing a white t–shirt and dark–coloured trousers and was riding a dark–coloured mountain bike.
A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said: “Police are appealing for witnesses after a 54-year-old woman had her handbag snatched from her whilst walking through Stranton Grange Cemetery in Hartlepool.
“As the woman made her way through the cemetery, she was approached from behind by a man on a bike.
“The man used force to snatch her handbag before making off through the cemetery towards Brierton Lane.”
