Hartlepool dog walker attacked by two men in early hours

A MAN suffered a bump to the head and a black eye when he was assaulted as he walked his dog in the early hours.

The 40-year-old was walking along Colwyn Road with his dog at around 2.30am today when he was approached by a man asking for a light for his cigarette.

The victim was then assaulted in an unprovoked attacked by two men.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the attack and are urging anyone who has any information to come forward.
