DETECTIVES are continuing to investigate a reported rape of a woman in Hartlepool.
Cleveland Police say the victim was raped as she was walking near Oval Grange, off the town’s Tunstall Avenue.
The incident happened at about 1am, on Thursday, October 30. The victim is said to have been approached and raped at the hands of a stranger. The alleged attacker was a man who made off from the scene after committing the crime.
Officers have been carrying out extra patrols in the area, and are asking local residents to take a commonsense approach, but remain vigilant.
The victim has been receiving support from specially-trained officers.
Police want to hear from anyone who was in the area of Oval Grange or Tunstall Avenue at the time, or anyone who has any information to contact them on the non-emergency 101 number.
