A YOB kicked out at a moving car causing damage to its paintwork.

The driver of the orange Fiat Punto was travelling along Green Street, towards Burbank Street, in Hartlepool, when he went past a gang of youths.

Suddenly, one of the group – a thug wearing a blue hooded top and black jogging bottoms – kicked the car causing damage to the paintwork on the passenger-side door.

Today police appealed for witnesses to the incident, which happened around 7pm on Wednesday, February 20, to come forward.

A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said: “The incident happened on Green Street, in Hartlepool, when the driver was driving towards Burbank Street.

“He came across a group of youths, one of which was wearing a blue hooded top and black jogging bottoms. The youth kicked the car, causing damage to the paintwork on the passenger door.

“Anyone who has any information on the incident or knows who is responsible for the damage to the car should get in touch.”

Any witnesses are asked to contact Pc Joe Crane, of Hartlepool Police, on the non-emergency 101 number or Crimestoppers anonymously on (0800) 555111.
