Investigation launched after man stabbed in Billingham

POLICE are investigating a stabbing at a house in Billingham.

Emergency services were called to Marsh House Avenue, in Billingham, where a 47-year-old man had been stabbed in the leg.

He was take to the James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough.

Officers have arrested a 46-year-old woman on suspicion of wounding with intent and she is being questioned about the incident by police.

A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said: “Police were called to an address in Marsh House Avenue, in Billingham, just before 10pm on Monday, July 14, where a 47-year-old man had received injuries to his leg.

“A 46-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding with intent and is being questioned by police.”

The house has been cordoned off by police while investigations are carried out.
