Laptop stolen from home while residents slept upstairs

BURGLARS made off with a laptop, mobile phone and more than a dozen computer games after targeting a house while the residents were asleep upstairs.

Raiders targeted a house in Station Road, Easington Colliery, sometime between 11pm on Saturday and 3.30am on Sunday.

Detectives investigating the case say they entered the house through the front door, which was closed but unlocked, and left via the patio door.

They made off with a Samsung notepad laptop worth £300, a Sony Ericsson mobile phone, a handbag containing a purse and bank cards and 20 Xbox games.

The total haul was worth more than £500.

Detectives will be visiting pawn shops in the Easington area to put traders on their guard for anyone looking to off-load the items.
