Man arrested after ‘two-for-one’ burglary in Hartlepool

A MAN was arrested after a “two-in-one” burglary.

A break-in took place at a house in Bunting Close, in the Middle Warren area of Hartlepool, in the early hours of yesterday.

The property had been broken into and car keys stolen.

Then the occupant’s white Nissan Juke was stolen and driven around town.

The incident was reported to police at 8am.

The vehicle was later spotted in Dent Street, near Murray Street, and the suspect was apprehended by a member of the public.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “A two-in-one burglary was reported at an address in Bunting Close, in Hartlepool at around 8am yesterday.

“At 12.35pm, someone rang in and said the stolen vehicle was located in Dent Street and the keys had been taken from the suspected thief.

“A 39-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary and was being questioned yesterday.”
