A MAN left fighting for his life after being attacked in his home is making a good recovery, say police.

The 29-year-old had spent at least two weeks in the high dependency unit at the University Hospital of North Tees, in Stockton, after suffering serious head injuries in the attack, in Argent Street, Easington Colliery, on May 29, as previously reported.

A Durham Police spokeswoman said: “The victim is doing ok and making a good recovery and police inquiries are continuing.”

Jason Michael McNaney, 29, of Anthony Street, and Reece Brown, 28, of Bourne Street, both of Easington Colliery, have appeared at Durham Crown Court charged with wounding in connection with the incident.

They will appear at Teesside Crown Court on Tuesday, July 29 when a plea and case management hearing is expected to take place.

A provisional trial date has been scheduled for November 24.
