Man charged with growing large cannabis farm after police search in Fens area of Hartlepool

AN alleged cannabis farmer has been charged after police uncovered what was described as a large growth.

The 41-year-old town man was arrested after police searched a house in the Thetford Road area of the Fens estate on Thursday afternoon.

Police from the Hartlepool Integrated Neighbourhood Team uncovered 52 cannabis plants in a loft at the address.

It was after they obtained a drugs search warrant from town magistrates.

The man, charged with production of cannabis, will appear before Hartlepool Magistrates’ Court on a date to be fixed.

A woman who was also held by police after the find has been released without charge.

Police described the farm as a significant find but no valuation of the plants has been determined yet.
