A MAN is to appear in court charged with the alleged manslaughter of a 39-year-old in Hartlepool.
The 25-year-old will be brought before Hartlepool Magistrates charged with one count of manslaughter and one of affray, in connection with the death of town man Gary Hart.
A second man, 24, will also appear in court charged with affray.
Mr Hart died on April 16 last year, nine days after he was assaulted in York Road, near to Errol Street, in Hartlepool, during which he suffered cracked ribs and a punctured lung.
He was taken to the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, where he spent several days.
A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said: “On Wednesday, April 29, two men will appear at Hartlepool Magistrates court in connection with the death of Gary Hart, in Hartlepool.
“The original incident took place on April 7, 2014, but Gary passed away some time later.
“A 25-year-old man was charged with manslaughter and affray and a 24-year-old man was charged with affray.”
