A man was punched, kicked and had suspected ammonia poured onto his face in an attack in Hartlepool.
The attack took place on a side road leading from Elwick Road while the victim was on his way to visit family at around 11pm on Friday July 10.
He was set upon by three unknown men who kicked and punched his head and body.
During the assault his jaw was broken and the substance, possibly ammonia, was poured on his face.
The three men ran off and unfortunately there is no description of them at this time.
