Christopher Raw was brought before Hartlepool Magistrates’ Court in custody.

The 31-year-old is accused of the burglary of a house in Bedford Street, off Croft Terrace, on the Headland, in Hartlepool, where four watches were stolen on Saturday, September 20.

Raw is also charged with allegedly attempting to break into another property in Bedford Street on the same date.

The defendant, of Templeton Close, Clavering, also faces a charge of criminal damage, namely that he is said to have caused damage to a mattress belonging to Cleveland Police.
