Man in hospital after being stabbed in Hartlepool street

A man has been taken to hospital after being stabbed in a Hartlepool street.

The 25-year-old was discovered by police in Belk Street at 2.55pm, today, with a stab wound.

Police say the investigation is still in its early stages and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

The man is currently being treated at the James Cook University Hospital.
