A MAN will stand trial later this year after pleading not guilty to two charges of intimidating witnesses in connection with the Mark Denton murder trial.

Harry Brogden, 40, of Howard Street, Hartlepool, denied both charges put to him when he appeared at Teesside Crown Court this morning via a video link from Holme House.

Brogden will stand trial during the week beginning Monday, June 23.

Former town boxer Mark was brutally killed at a house party in Hutton Avenue, Hartlepool, on New Year’s Eve.

Two Hartlepool men, David Sowerby, 23, of Allerton Close, and Anthony Middleton, 21, of Bruntoft Avenue, have been charged with his murder.

They pleaded not guilty to the charge when they appeared at Teesside Crown Court earlier this month. They will stand trial in June.
