A MAN was stabbed in the back after a robbery in a pub car park.

The 19-year-old victim was driving his white Audi A3 car, with two male passengers, when he pulled into the car park of The Saxon pub, in Easington Road, Hartlepool.

Two men approached the vehicle, and one of them reached into the car and took the keys from the ignition.

The driver got out to confront the man and was attacked.

The thug had a knife, and during the incident the victim received a small stab wound to his back.

The brazen assailant then reached into the car and swiped some of the driver’s personal property, before both suspects ran off through a cut on nearby Nicholson Way.

Today police released descriptions of those responsible.

The first was in his early 20s, around 5ft 11ins tall, with short blonde hair, of skinny build, with a skinny face.

The second was aged 30-40, around 5ft 7ins to 5ft 8ins tall, and of stocky build, with stubble on his face.

Officers have also appealed for witnesses to the shocking incident, which happened on Saturday, at about 5.30pm.

A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said: “The victim was taken to hospital to receive treatment for a small stab wound to his back, then released.”
