Men admit robbing Headland store where worker was said to be threatened with a knife

Two men allegedly robbed the Aras Convenience Store on Northgate on the Headland, with one of them allegedly threatening a member of staff at knifepoint.

TWO men have appeared before a judge and pleaded guilty to robbery of a Hartlepool newsagents.

Callum James Horsley, 22, and Wayne Rogan, 29, appeared at Teesside Crown Court, in Middlesbrough, where they each pleaded guilty to one count of robbery and one count of possession of an offensive weapon.

The charges relate to an incident at the Premier Store – also known as Aras Convenience Store – in Northgate on Hartlepool’s Headland.

It happened on Tuesday, May 27, where a shop worker is said to have been threatened with a knife.

Cash and other items from the store were stolen.

Horsley, of Northgate, and Rogan, of Heortness Road, in the West View area of Hartlepool, were remanded in custody at the court hearing yesterday which was heard by Judge Peter Bowers.

Judge Bowers adjourned the case until June 27 for sentence.
