New Hartlepool homes targeted by burglars

AN investigation has been launched after thieves targeted a new housing development site.

Cleveland Police are appealing for information after the new-build plots in the Gleeson Homes site in Tanfield Road, in the Foggy Furze area of Hartlepool were burgled.

The incident took place between 4pm, on Tuesday, March 24, and 7.45am on Wednesday, March 25.

Items belonging to the workmen were taken in the raid, including a mixer, a generator, and hand-held tools.

Damage was also caused to the new-build properties when the criminals gained entry.

A police spokeswoman said: “Anyone with information regarding the stolen items, or anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the burglary, is asked to contact Detective Constable Holly Angus on the non-emergency 101 number or Crimestoppers on (0800) 555111.”
